All In a Name

So I'm pretty sure I said we had decided on the name for our baby.
I lied.
It's changed several times. As hard as it was for us to name Doodle - once we had a name it stuck because there weren't tons of boys names we liked. Girls name are a different story. We agree on something then it changes.
Then I get hysterical.
And we go back to the drawing board.
So today I did a little research on Dutch girls names since Phat Daddy is Dutch. I love his grandmother, but neither of us loves her name. We thought we may get some inspiration from name lists.
Not so much.
Below - the e-mail exchange we had over one particular name.

I thought I heard old fashion is the new trend. Think Beatrice, Prudence, Agnes, Agatha etc. Check 19th century names, there are some nice ones there. Then there are the classics like Sarah, Julia and Nicole. What can I say? Names are tough.

What I want to know is if you are going to give up your original name to your loyal and dedicated readers since you are no longer using it!! ;) LOL

We had a terrible time finding a girl name though we had the boy name decided 5 minutes after the test came back positive. We would have loved to use a grandmother's name but we had these to choose from: Ruby, Selma, Olga and Adella. Nope. I have always liked Anika but I was vetoed on that one.

hmm, can't help you, I have my girl's name picked out this time (after her 2 grandmothers), but I do not have any boys names. I have already named 3 and I am out of ideas!

You know its not Dutch but Amy is a wonderful name! :)

Neve is pretty though! I liked that suggestion.

I don't have any Dutch names to suggest, but I love the name Lily for a girl....I'd have used it for the Princess but Hubs cousin had already stolen it from me to name their girl. I also love Audrey....but I have an aunt by that name and my dad and uncles always call her porkchop (they maintain she was so ugly growing up they had to tie a porkchop around her neck just to get the dog to play with her - can we say dysfunctional family?)

Other names I love but Hubs vetoed are Scarlett, Poppy, Molly....I love naming girls....just come up with a shortlist, and when you finally see your beautiful daughter you'll know what name is right. We did, and it wasn't the name I thought that it was going to be....
